The University of Kansas is offering a course called \u201cAngry White Male Studies,\u201d purporting to \u201cchart the rise of the \u2018angry white male\u2019\u201d in the US and UK – and angering a good portion of the white males within tweeting distance.<\/p>\n
The class examines \u201cmanifestations of male anger<\/em>\u201d in the modern age, \u201cexploring the deeper sources of this emotional state<\/em>\u201d (which could be said to include the existence of classes like \u201cAngry White Male Studies<\/em>\u201d). Students will also learn about how \u201cdominant and subordinate masculinities<\/em>\u201d are experienced in societies undergoing \u201crapid change connected to modernity<\/em>\u201d \u2013 as well as how those masculinities fare when encountering \u201crights-based movements of women, people of color, homosexuals and trans individuals.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n Spoiler alert: things don\u2019t end so well for the white males, who were quick to \u201cmanifest their anger<\/em>\u201d on Twitter.<\/p>\n That university is going to have such a low enrollment for this stupidity. If you protest you are therefore the angry white male. If you don’t, the decay gets even worse.
