Roger Wicker, chairman of the Senate committee on commerce, science and transportation, wrote to the Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s Acting Administrator Daniel Elwell on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"scribd_iframe_embed\" title=\"A010F36F97736A8F13CCFC4701F08E8D.2019.04.02-wicker-elwell-letter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/404134949\/content?start_page=1&amp;view_mode=scroll&amp;show_recommendations=true&amp;access_key=key-yj3tv0Gx8V6e80PNzgHF\" data-auto-height=\"true\" data-aspect-ratio=\"null\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"100%\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After reviewing available documents and information obtained from whistleblowers, Wicker assessed that the FAA might have been aware of these deficiencies as early as August 2018, two months before the first deadly accident with the brand-new plane. Investigators believe the MCAS system \u2013 which adjusts the tail to keep the plane\u2019s nose level in flight \u2013 are to blame for the tragedies.
