President Trump has greeted Special Counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s report – which found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016 – enthusiastically, calling it a \u201cComplete and Total EXONERATION.\u201d<\/p>\n

Special Counsel Robert Mueller submitted his report to Attorney General William Barr on Friday, after almost two years of investigation. Barr released a summary of the report on Sunday, explaining that Mueller found no evidence of \u2018Russian collusion,\u2019 and insufficient evidence of obstruction of justice.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a shame that our country had to go through this,\u201d<\/em> Trump told reporters after Barr\u2019s letter went public. \u201cTo be honest, it\u2019s a shame your president had to go through this.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“This was an illegal takedown that failed,<\/em>” he continued.<\/p>\n

Trump had repeatedly criticized Mueller\u2019s probe, calling it a politically-motivated \u201cwitch hunt,\u201d<\/em> and an \u201cillegal and conflated investigation in search of a crime.\u201d<\/em> Trump had also called Mueller \u201cout of control\u201d<\/em> and referred to his legal team as a \u201cband of angry Democrats.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

With Mueller\u2019s report finished, Trump\u2019s opponents have shifted to pressuring Barr to release its underlying evidence. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that this evidence \u201cmay be even more important to the truth than the report itself.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Among Trump\u2019s most ardent opponents, the report has seemingly done little to sate their desire to go after the President. California Rep. Adam Schiff (D), currently heading a House Intelligence Committee investigation into alleged \u2018Russian collusion,\u2019 tld ABC News on Sunday that he believes he believes \u201ccompelling\u201d<\/em> and \u201csignificant evidence of collusion\u201d<\/em> still exists.<\/p>\n
