Administration has been in negotiations to allow a sale of two nuclear reactors designed by American companies to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.\u00a0 This is troubling for at least two reasons.\u00a0 First, nuclear reactors may provide the Saudis with a backdoor to a nuclear bomb.\u00a0 Second, a February 19 <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/sites\/democrats.oversight.house.gov\/files\/Trump%20Saudi%20Nuclear%20Report%20-%202-19-2019.pdf\">interim report<\/a> from the new Democratic majority on the House Oversight and Reform Committee alleges that the sale may involve conflicts of interest and other violations of federal law by Trump cronies inside and outside the Administration.<\/p>\n<p>Reckless, corrupt, and illegal: the transaction is the quintessence of Trump.\u00a0 Only a super-salesman can convince Americans that the proposed deal is a good idea and not just a means to enrich Trump associates.\u00a0 Fortunately, the negotiations with the Saudis are being led by a man who describes himself as \u201cAmerica\u2019s number one energy salesman\u201d:\u00a0 US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf all the recent secretaries of energy, Perry knows the least about nuclear energy [and] nonproliferation policy,\u201d observes <a href=\"https:\/\/lobelog.com\/selling-saudis-the-nuclear-rope-to-hang-us\/\">Joe Cirincione<\/a>, President of the nuclear watchdog Ploughshares Fund.\u00a0 Before he became secretary of energy, Perry didn\u2019t even know that the Department of Energy (DOE) is in charge of the US nuclear stockpile.\u00a0 Perry <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YN8uFJz9gTk\">forgot<\/a> the name of the DOE during the 2016 Republican presidential primary debates while he was trying to list the three&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a
