Just a few weeks ago the honorable Congresswoman from San Francisco, Nancy Pelosi, made the stunning claim<\/a> that health insurance in America would be cheaper than ever before. \u201cMany of the initiatives that he passed are what are coming to bear now, including the Affordable Care Act,\u201d she said at a recent press conference about legislation championed by the President. \u201cThe Affordable Care Act is bringing the cost of health care in our country down in both the public and private sector.\u201d<\/p>\n Of course, days later we found out what the future of \u00a0\u201daffordable\u201d health care and lower costs actually meant, when the IRS admitted<\/a> that prices would top $20,000 per year for the average American family.<\/p>\n It seems that these are the ramifications for passing a sweeping overhaul of the U.S. health care industry without having first read the bill<\/a> to find out what was in it.<\/p>\n Now that we know government mandated ObamaCare will actually cost Americans at all income levels significantly more than was promised by the President and Congressional democrats, Nancy Pelosi is back peddling on her statements, claiming that she and the bill\u2019s supporters never said there\u2019d be lower premiums.<\/p>\n Well, some people don\u2019t have health insurance and they\u2019ll certainly have their health insurance premiums go up [laughs] because they don\u2019t have any health insurance now, so they don\u2019t have any premiums now.<\/p>\n But for anyone that that is a challenge, there are subsidies in the exchanges.<\/p>\n And, it\u2019s also about what you get for your money. In other words, people will be getting no lifetime or annual limits on their coverage, no discrimination because of pre-existing medical conditions\u2026 it has a whole array of quality that is in the legislation.<\/p>\n But if you don\u2019t have health insurance and you don\u2019t qualify for a subsidy\u2026 and you\u2019re mandated to have health insurance, you won\u2019t have an increase.<\/p>\n We\u2019re very sensitive to what it means to young people, especially to young singles. And, umm, there are policies that people can get.<\/p>\n I don\u2019t remember saying that everybody in the country will have a lower premium, because everybody in the country doesn\u2019t have health insurance so how could it be lower.<\/strong><\/p>\n But the fact is, the value of what you get for the cost that you pay, is a reduction in cost to you.<\/p>\n \u2026for everybody it is going to be a liberation, a freedom.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2026and if you\u2019re a small business. What this means for small business. It is\u2026 it is\u2026umm\u2026 it\u2019s uh\u2026 it\u2019s a solution for the American people.
