It has since spread to an area about one-and-a-half square kilometers.<\/p>\n<p>Large flames could be seen rising from the hillside as witnesses described \u201capocalyptic\u201d scenes.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Boocock, West Yorkshire Fire Service\u2019s incident commander, told the BBC it was \u201cone of the biggest moorland fires we\u2019ve ever had to deal with\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Five crews and two specialist moorland firefighting units were trying to contain the blaze.
