At least two security forces have been killed and three others injured in a roadside bomb attack in Pakistan.\n<\/p>\n
\u00c5\u201cIt was an improvised explosive device (IED) blast, two policemen have been killed and three injured. Condition of one of them is critical,\u201d senior police official Shafiullah Khan said in a statement issued on Thursday.\n<\/p>\n
The security forces were on patrol in the Daudzai suburb of Peshawar when the explosion took place, the statement added.\n<\/p>\n
There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack so far, but pro-Taliban militant groups are often blamed for bomb attacks in Pakistan.\n<\/p>\n
On May 24, at least nine police officers were killed in two separate attacks carried out by militants in Peshawar.\n<\/p>\n
The fresh attacks underline the challenge of militant violence faced by newly sworn-in Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.\n<\/p>\n
The Pakistani Army has launched several operations in the troubled northwest in a bid to flush out militants from the tribal zone.\n<\/p>\n
Thousands of Pakistanis have lost their lives in bombings and other militant attacks since the US-led war in Afghanistan began in October 2001.\n<\/p>\n
