As of Sunday morning, <\/span>more than 230 demonstrations <\/span><\/a>in cities and towns across the country are planned for Monday, February 18, with more than 10,000 Americans prepared to protest President Donald Trump\u2019s <\/span>admittedly fake national emergency<\/a>, and Republicans for their support for his actions.<\/p>\n

After Trump\u2019s press conference Friday morning, progressive groups including MoveOn, United We Dream, Indivisible, and CREDO Action set to work <\/span>organizing demonstrations <\/span><\/a>against what CREDO co-director Heidi Hess called \u201can unconstitutional power grab that threatens our democracy and escalates Trump\u2019s attacks on immigrants, communities of color, Muslims and Black and Brown people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Within 24 hours Americans had RSVP\u2019d to more than 175 President\u2019s Day protests, with the number exploding again by Sunday.<\/p>\n

Emma Einhorn, campaign director for MoveOn, said the enthusiasm reflected the American public\u2019s widespread opposition to Trump\u2019s anti-immigration agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe American people demanded a course correction in the 2018 election, and poll after poll reaffirms a majority want to build an America that welcomes immigrants and people seeking asylum,\u201d said Einhorn. \u201cMoveOn\u2019s millions of members have continued to act alongside immigrant communities by taking hundreds of thousands of actions, including opposing Trump\u2019s Muslim Ban, defending immigrants who Trump put into risk of deportation by ending DACA and TPS, and standing with all immigrants facing deportation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leah Greenberg, co-founder of Indivisible, shared <\/span>a link to a map <\/span><\/a>of all the protests that are currently planned across the country and information on how Americans can organize their own actions if there isn\u2019t one planned in their area already. Many of the events will be held at noon local time.<\/p>\n
