Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris has jumped on the pro-pot bandwagon after decades of locking smokers up as a prosecutor, not only admitting she has \u201cinhaled\u201d \u2013 but implying she\u2019d do it again if it was legal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did inhale<\/em>,\u201d the California congresswoman giggled, claiming it was untrue she opposed legalizing the drug. \u201cIt was a long time ago!<\/em>\u201d she laughed, adding self-consciously, \u201cI just broke news!<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHalf my family is from Jamaica. Are you kidding me?<\/em>\u201d Harris replied, when one of the hosts of\u00a0nationally-syndicated\u00a0radio show the Breakfast Club confided he had heard the former prosecutor was against legalization \u2013 an increasingly unpopular position among voters, nearly two-thirds of whom support legalizing and taxing marijuana.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it gives a lot of people joy<\/em>,\u201d Harris said slyly, by way of an answer when pressed on whether she\u2019d smoke again if it was legal.\u00a0 \u201cAnd we need more joy<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n The giggly Harris’\u00a0answer was slightly different\u00a0than the one she gave last time she was asked about recreational marijuana, back in 2014 \u2013 and judging by the response on Twitter, voters aren\u2019t planning on letting her forget it any time soon.<\/p>\n Yet she opposed legalization in 2010 and 2015.
