{"id":386481,"date":"2018-11-25T11:29:10","date_gmt":"2018-11-25T10:29:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/stop-being-saudi-arabias-btch-tulsi-gabbard-tells-trump-critics-pounce-rt-us-news\/"},"modified":"2018-11-25T11:29:10","modified_gmt":"2018-11-25T10:29:10","slug":"stop-being-saudi-arabias-btch-tulsi-gabbard-tells-trump-critics-pounce-rt-us-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/stop-being-saudi-arabias-btch-tulsi-gabbard-tells-trump-critics-pounce-rt-us-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Stop being \u2018Saudi Arabia\u2019s b*tch,\u2019 Tulsi Gabbard tells Trump, critics pounce \u2014 RT US News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdni.rt.com\/files\/2018.11\/thumbnail\/5bf669c3fc7e93462e8b4640.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>        Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) has mocked US President Donald Trump\u2019s commitment to remaining allied with Riyadh in the wake of journalist Jamal Khashoggi\u2019s death, calling the president \u201cSaudi Arabia\u2019s b*tch.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The anti-interventionist congresswoman tweeted the scathing insult following an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/444478-saudi-prince-khashoggi-killing\/\">earlier statement<\/a> from Trump, in which he said that the United States would stand by its Saudi allies despite conclusions from the CIA that the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered Khashoggi&#8217;s killing in October.<\/p>\n<p>Trump admitted that it <em>\u201ccould very well\u201d<\/em> be that the crown prince knew of plans to murder Khashoggi, but unashamedly cited weapons contracts with arms manufactures Lockheed Martin and Raytheon as a reason not to disturb the long-standing alliance between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Gabbard tweeted that <em>\u201cbeing Saudi Arabia\u2019s b*tch\u201d<\/em> is not the kind of <em>\u201cAmerica First\u201d<\/em> foreign policy that Trump promised during his presidential campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Gabbard, who is an Iraq War veteran herself, opposes the knee-jerk use of the US military in foreign conflicts. She clashed with former president Barack Obama on his Syria policy, suggesting that the US and its allies were pushing for regime change in the country but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/394164-regime-change-syria-tulsi-gabbard\/\">ignoring<\/a> the potential consequences. She has also spoken out against the US arming anti-government fighters in Syria, many of whom turned out to be jihadist extremists.<\/p>\n<p>Gabbard also visited Syria herself on a private fact-finding mission, during which she met Syrian President Bashar Assad without informing top Democrats. After the trip, she was roundly denounced by members of both parties as an <em>\u201cAssad apologist\u201d<\/em> for daring to break bipartisan ranks on interventionist US foreign policy.<\/p>\n<p>That exact same line criticism was on display on Wednesday as well, as pundits and politicians \u2013 even those routinely critical of Trump \u2013 lit into Gabbard over her tweet.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">And how would you describe your fondness for Assad?
