Former Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab said that the deal was in fact \u201cworse than staying in EU.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Raab, who resigned as Brexit secretary last week, told the BBC that May\u2019s deal, which took the best part of two years to be negotiated, would be rejected by Parliament. In that scenario \u201c<em>alternatives<\/em>\u201d would need to be explored, including remaining in the bloc.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KwhUEe5AIVU\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While Raab insisted that<em> \u201che\u2019s not advocating staying in the EU,\u201d<\/em> he argued that <em>\u201cif you just presented me terms, this deal or EU membership, because we would effectively be bound by the same rules but without the control or voice over them, yes, I think this would be even worse than that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>However, Raab is not alone in his preference, according to the Spectator Editor Fraser Nelson.<\/p>\n<p>Raab\u2019s admission could give Remainers hope of either stopping Brexit altogether, or forcing a second referendum on the issue. People\u2019s Vote advocate, Labour MP David Lammy asked:<em> \u201cIf MPs are allowed to change their minds, the public must be given the same opportunity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Just over a week ago Dominic Raab was in charge of negotiating May&#8217;s Brexit deal. After a week scrutinizing the deal, the PM looks no closer to getting MPs on board.
