Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has slammed the prevailing unjust world order and called for concerted efforts to exercise structural transformations within the key global management bodies.\n<\/p>\n
At a Saturday meeting with the ambassadors of African countries in Tehran, Ahmadinejad noted that the hegemonic powers seek to put other nations under pressure under the pretext of countering terrorism, drug trafficking and environmental pollution.\n<\/p>\n
\u00c5\u201cThe system ruling over the world is basically unjust and the UN, the [UN] Security Council and the world\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s monetary structure should be altered and reformed based on justice and the interests of the nations,\u201d he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Ahmadinejad pointed to Iran and Africa\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s strategic wealth and their geopolitical importance, adding, \u00c5\u201cI believe, if we all stay together, we can change the oppressive system prevailing the world with unity, concord and coordination and that requires collective and inclusive participation.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00c5\u201cThe culture of African people is peace-seeking, piety, honesty, and humanity, but the colonizers and the enemies of nations impose civil and regional wars on the African people in an attempt to plunder their resources and wealth,\u201d The Iranian chief executive said.\n<\/p>\n
He expressed optimism that the African Union and other international organizations would adopt measures and plans aimed at reforming the world order.\n<\/p>\n
Ahmadinejad said that Iran\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s friendship with African nations is based on cultural, historical, and humane grounds and stated that the bond will never lose momentum.\n<\/p>\n
Before Ahmadinejad\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s remarks, the Malian ambassador, as the representative of the African envoys, underlined the importance of promotion of ties between Iran and Africa, saying, \u00c5\u201cAfrica seeks to enhance and promote cooperation with Iran and we hope that the ties will expand in the near future.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
