Some 20,000 migrants are currently preparing to\u00a0break through\u00a0the Bosnian-Croatian border near\u00a0Velika-Kladusa,\u00a0Kronen Zeitung<\/a><\/em>\u00a0reported, citing an anonymous department head from\u00a0the Austrian Interior Ministry. The migrant crowd is purportedly made up\u00a0of young men of\u00a0Pakistani, Iranian, Algerian and Moroccan descent as\u00a0opposed to\u00a0earlier migrant \u201cwaves\u201d from\u00a0Syria. And there are almost no women in\u00a0this group.<\/p>\n

But what troubles the Interior Ministry most are the reports that many of\u00a0these men are armed with\u00a0knives. Media outlets have already reported one incident, involving a border officer who was attacked by\u00a0knife-wielding migrant.<\/p>\n

\n<\/span>The Interior Ministry is not worried about\u00a0the massive migrant group coming to\u00a0Austria because most of\u00a0them want to\u00a0reach the northern part of\u00a0the EU, where states provide better conditions for\u00a0refugees.<\/p>\n

\u201cMigrants want to [go to] Germany, to\u00a0Scandinavian countries. Austria is not the best option for\u00a0them right now,\u201d the source in\u00a0the ministry said.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The growing crisis at\u00a0the Bosnian-Croatian border comes a month ahead of\u00a0a UN conference in\u00a0Morocco, where The Global Compact for\u00a0Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration will be adopted.
