The violence left over 50 people injured.<\/p>\n<p>\n  <i>&#8220;Doctors have provided medical care to 55 people injured in<br \/>\n  the Dzhety-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region during the<br \/>\n  events over the Kumtor gold mine,&#8221;<\/i> a Kyrgyz Health Ministry<br \/>\n  spokesman told Interfax on Friday.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/rss.russiatoday.ru\/files\/news\/1f\/43\/20\/00\/56543_watermark_12_12_rightbottom.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n  Those injured in northern Kyrgyzstan include 13 law enforcement<br \/>\n  personnel, five of whom were admitted to the Issyk-Kul regional<br \/>\n  hospital.\u00a0<span>Three of them sustained<br \/>\n  injuries of medium gravity, the ministry spokesman said.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Police used tear gas and stun grenades in clashes with villagers<br \/>\n  who tried to seize a power station feeding the mine and cut power<br \/>\n  supplies, following several days of protests.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The mine belongs to Toronto-listed Centerra Gold and is<br \/>\n  Kyrgyzstan&#8217;s largest gold deposit. The protests started Tuesday<br \/>\n  afternoon when h<span>undreds of villagers had<br \/>\n  blocked the road to Kumtor, threatening to move on the mine if<br \/>\n  the government did not tear up its agreement with the<br \/>\n  company.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/rss.russiatoday.ru\/files\/news\/1f\/43\/20\/00\/56542_watermark_12_12_rightbottom.jpg\" \/><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Centerra Gold\u00a0received an environmental claim from the<br \/>\n  Kyrgyzstan Environmental Protection and Forestry for $315 million<br \/>\n  for alleged environmental damage.
