{"id":375399,"date":"2018-08-29T22:16:45","date_gmt":"2018-08-29T21:16:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/presstv-over-a-fifth-of-uk-girls-self-harm-study\/"},"modified":"2018-08-29T22:16:45","modified_gmt":"2018-08-29T21:16:45","slug":"presstv-over-a-fifth-of-uk-girls-self-harm-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/presstv-over-a-fifth-of-uk-girls-self-harm-study\/","title":{"rendered":"PressTV-Over a fifth of UK girls self-harm: Study"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Results of a new study suggest that more than a fifth of girls aged 14 in the United Kingdom have committed self-harm amid reports of increased admissions in hospitals of children and teenagers who have \u00a0hurt themselves as a way of dealing with difficult feelings.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The results of the annual Good Childhood Report, published on the website of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/health-45329030\">BBC<\/a> on Wednesday, said 22 percent of the girls and 9 percent of the boys from a population of 11,000 people surveyed had hurt themselves on purpose last year.<\/p>\n<p>The report is part of a continuing research project by the Children&#8217;s Society, a charity which has examined the state of children&#8217;s wellbeing in the UK.
