Abdulbaki Todashev, the father of Ibragim Todashev, said during a news conference in Russia that his son was executed by the FBI to keep him from talking.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want justice, I want an investigation,\u201d he said. \u201cThey come to your house like bandits, and they shoot you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMaybe my son knew some sort of information that the police didn\u2019t want to get out,\u201d he added. \u201cThey shut him up. That\u2019s my opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ibragim Todashev was an acquaintance of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the alleged terrorist who was killed in Watertown, Massachusetts, following the Boston Marathon bombing. On May 22, we reported<\/a> that Todashev was killed by the FBI during interrogation in Florida.<\/p>\n Khusn Taramiv, a friend of Todashev, told WESH-TV in Orlando that Todashev felt he would be shot by the FBI. \u201cHe felt inside he was going to get shot,\u201d Taramiv said. \u201cI told him, \u2018Everything is going to be fine, don\u2019t worry about it.\u2019 He said, \u2018I have a really bad feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n The FBI initially claimed its agents had killed Todashev in self defense during questioning. On Wednesday, however, the agency said the Chechen was unarmed<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLaw enforcement officials said Todashev was in the process of confessing to a 2011 triple murder in Waltham, Mass., and was working on writing out the details of the crime when he snapped and turned violent,\u201d WESH.com reported. \u201cOfficials said Todashev pushed a table and possibly threw a chair.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is proof of cold-blooded murder,\u201d Maxim Shevchenko, a journalist and a member of the presidential human rights council, said during the news conference in Moscow today.<\/p>\n Chechen lawyer Zaurbek Sadakhanov characterized the killing an extrajudicial execution. \u201cWhy was he interrogated three times without a lawyer? Why no recording? Why seven shots? And why should I believe their version? Why do American policemen believe they can do whatever they want?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe have confirmed through senior sources within the FBI that Ibragim was indeed unarmed when he was shot seven times in the head, what appear to be even in the back of the head,\u201d Hassan Shibly<\/a>, executive director of the CAIR Florida, told USA Today. \u201cThat\u2019s very disturbing.\u201d<\/p>\n The Florida branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations has called for a federal civil rights investigation into Todashev\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
