The controversial councillor wrote on Facebook that Hitler <em>\u201cwould have had a solution to the Israel problem\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Enticott, a member of the Bognor Regis Town Council in West Sussex, apologized for causing offence but did not disavow his comments. In an interview with the BBC, he said that he had been watching a video in which Israeli soldiers were <em>\u201cshooting unarmed civilians, some of them children\u201d<\/em> and that he made the statement in that context.<\/p>\n<div class=\"arcticle__read-more read-more\">\n<p>Read more<\/p>\n<p>    <a class=\"read-more__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/430229-sessions-nazis-jews-leave\/\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"read-more__cover\" src=\"https:\/\/cdni.rt.com\/files\/2018.06\/thumbnail\/5b292603dda4c8de278b4626.jpg\" alt=\"US Attorney General Jeff Sessions \u00a9 Jonathan Ernst\"\/><br \/>\n    <\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>&#8220;I don&#8217;t agree with Hitler and genocide and anything like that. It was just quite a dry comment used out of frustration,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Jewish Labour Movement (JLM) did not accept Enticott\u2019s explanation, with Chairman Ivor Caplin calling it a <em>\u201cso-called half-apology\u201d.<\/em> Caplin said he believed people would <em>\u201csee right through\u201d<\/em> Enticott\u2019s excuses.<\/p>\n<p>Enticott said he was <em>\u201canti-Zionist not anti-Semitic\u201d<\/em> and added he<em> \u201cnever meant to offend\u201d<\/em> the Jewish community. <em>\u201cI&#8217;d like to apologise if that&#8217;s the case, for the words I&#8217;ve used.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Enticott had initially denied posting anti-semitic content on his Facebook page, but later admitted that he was responsible for sharing the articles, one of which made claims about Jews drinking blood and compared circumcision practices performed by rabbis to pedophilia.
