Next year, when they\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re gone, will be much worse. We and our families are all in danger,\u201d said an interpreter.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c5\u201cDavid Cameron has talked about our safety but all the interpreters are really worried. We feel we\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re being abandoned to the Taliban.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a group of campaigners, including MPs, urged the government to extend protection measures to offer a safe haven to all translators, serving in the war-torn country since 2001.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes after it emerged last week that Britain would offer five-year visas to those interpreters who have regularly served on the front line.<\/p>\n<p>According to the reports, the visas will be granted to about half of the 1,200 interpreters who are currently employed by Britain\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s Foreign Office and Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>Afghan interpreters now fear retaliation from Taliban militants as foreign forces prepare to withdraw from Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>Some 20 interpreters working with British troops in Afghanistan were killed in action and dozens have been injured.
