It risks plunging the Tory government into a full-blown crisis as he\u2019s the third minister to resign in 24 hours.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/uk\/432389-boris-johnson-resigns-uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">READ MORE:\u00a0British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson resigns &#8211; Downing Street<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Johnson abandoned his ministerial role after reportedly claiming attempts to defend May\u2019s plan \u2013 agreed on Friday during a 12-hour cabinet meeting at her country residence Chequers \u2013 were like <em>\u201cpolishing a turd.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong\/>The Brexiteer \u2013 once described by May as an FFS \u2013 a Fine Foreign Secretary \u2013 said he could not promote the Brexit agreement, which would effectively see the UK abiding by EU regulations in order to establish a free trade area between the UK and EU.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Politicians come and go but the problems they have created for people remain. His replacement will be announced shortly. The prime minister thanks Boris for his work.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong\/>It comes just hours after Housing Minister Dominic Raab was appointed as the successor to Brexit Secretary David Davis who resigned on Sunday night. Davis said it would not be \u201cplausible\u201d for him to deliver the PM\u2019s trade agreement if he did not <em>\u201cbelieve\u201d<\/em> in it, saying it gave<em> \u201caway too much too easily\u201d<\/em> to EU negotiators.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson\u2019s abrupt departure was largely welcomed by his political rivals on Twitter, while fellow Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage welcomed his stance against the soft Brexit plan.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/maria.zakharova.167\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook post<\/a> about May\u2019s cabinet woes, Russia\u2019s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that <em>\u201ceven the British king of political eccentrics didn\u2019t want to stay in the leaky boat.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Bye bye Boris.
