Incensed at the Trump administration\u2019s immigration policy, they chanted \u201cabolish ICE\u201d and shouted \u201cwe know where you live.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>McConnell was accosted as he left Louisville\u2019s Bristol Bar &amp; Grille, with protesters chanting <em>\u201cwhere are the babies, Mitch?\u201d<\/em> a reference to the 2,400 children of illegal immigrants separated from their families at the US border. The separation of families drew intense criticism until President Donald Trump ended the policy by executive order last month.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"media__youtube-frame\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300px\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/68fm-kWgllY\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The protesters also chanted <em>\u201cabolish ICE,\u201d<\/em> a slogan that has become a rallying cry for the far left. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been lambasted by leftist politicians and had its staff and their families threatened by \u2018Antifa\u2019 activists for their role in enforcing the administration\u2019s \u2018zero tolerance\u2019 immigration policies.<\/p>\n<p>One protester delivered a thinly-veiled threat to McConnell, calling him <em>\u201cturtle head,\u201d<\/em> and sneering <em>\u201cwe know where you live.\u201d<\/em> McConnell\u2019s dining companion, Kentucky Representative Jonathan Shell, described the protest as <em>\u201cextremist\u201d<\/em> and <em>\u201cvery distasteful.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The protest was attended by the Louisville chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, which described that one protester as unaffiliated with the leftist group.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Shell described the threats as coming <em>\u201cright out of the Maxine Waters playbook.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Democratic Congresswoman from California Maxine Waters has been criticized by Republicans and establishment Democrats for calling for the public harassment of Trump administration officials.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they\u2019re not welcome anymore, anywhere,\u201d<\/em> she told a rally in Los Angeles in June. She denied that her comments were an incitement to violence, and vowed to keep fighting back like a <em>\u201cwounded animal.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Waters\u2019 fiery speech came days after White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was booted out of a Virginia restaurant by an owner who disagreed with her politics. Nial Bradshaw\"\/><br \/>\n    <\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>In addition, a man was charged with felony theft last week, after he stole a teenager\u2019s red \u2018Make America Great Again\u2019 hat and threw a drink in the teen\u2019s face in a Texas burger restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>For McConnell, Saturday was not the Senate Republican\u2019s first encounter with the #resistance, a movement that has graduated from online comments to street protests in recent weeks. Last month, McConnell was confronted by immigration protesters as he and his wife left a university event in Washington DC. McConnell\u2019s wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, told the group to <em>\u201cleave him alone,\u201d<\/em> before security guards sped the pair away.<\/p>\n<p>As the left grows more violent, Republicans have crafted the #resistance\u2019s anti-Trump excesses into a campaign message for November\u2019s midterm elections. In a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eFRHX6glTSM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">campaign ad<\/a>\u00a0released by the party two weeks ago, images of burning cars and black-clad Antifa protesters are accompanied by clips of celebrities calling for Trump\u2019s assassination and of Waters whipping up her followers.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Think your friends would be interested?
