A bomb explosion has rocked a busy suburban shopping area in the Thai capital, Bangkok, injuring seven people.\n<\/p>\n
Bangkok police colonel Narongrit Promsawan said on Monday that a home-made bomb hidden near trash containers went off at about 9:00 p.m. local time (1400 GMT) on Sunday in Ramkhamhaeng District.\n<\/p>\n
Promsawan added that police had launched an investigation into the incident to see what caused the explosion and who were involved.\n<\/p>\n
\u00c5\u201cA preliminary investigation of the scene found many nails were part of the device,\u201d Promsawan stated, adding that the victims had not sustained life-threatening injuries.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.\n<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, deputy government spokeswoman Sunisa Lertpakawat said, \u00c5\u201cIt is now under investigation, which may take time, but not too long because security for Thais and foreigners is a very important matter for this government.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
