Norman Finkelstein is among the leading scholars on the Israel-Palestine conflict in the United States. His work primarily focuses on the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict and the\u00a0Nazi Holocaust<\/a>. For decades, he has\u00a0advocated<\/a>\u00a0for a two state solution on the June 1967 borders, a \u201cjust solution to the refugee question,\u201d an end to the Israeli settlements in Palestine, the deconstruction of the border wall, the right to clean water, and an end to the occupation, the Gaza blockade, and the use of force against the Palestinians.<\/p>\n

About eleven years ago, after a\u00a0debate<\/a>\u00a0with Alan Dershowitz on\u00a0Democracy Now!<\/em>, in which Finkelstein discredited Dershowitz\u2019s book,\u00a0The Case for Israel,<\/em>\u00a0Dershowitz launched a\u00a0smear campaign<\/a>\u00a0against Finkelstein, complete with\u00a0wholesale lies<\/a>. Many believe this resulted in the\u00a0denial<\/a>\u00a0of Finkelstein\u2019s tenure around that time at DePaul University, a move that Dershowitz petitioned the university to make.<\/p>\n

Despite his widely acknowledged expertise and accomplishments, and praise from his students and readers, Finkelstein remains without a job today. His books are rarely reviewed.<\/p>\n
