Here are the most interesting snippets of Kanye\u2019s thoughts.<\/p>\n<h2>1. \u201cI love the way Candace Owens thinks\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>This tweet immediately stirred controversy. Candace Owens is a black activist known for her opposition to the Black Lives Matter movement. She is the communications director for the Trump administration-linked Turning Point USA and specializes in <em>\u201curban engagement,\u201d<\/em> delivering right-wing messages to college campuses across America.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I love the way Candace Owens thinks<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/987696355341553665?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 21, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h2>2. \u201cConstantly bringing up the past keeps you stuck there\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>West followed up his tweet about Owens with what appear to be a series of thoughts on how black Americans see themselves as <em>\u201cvictims\u201d<\/em>. In one Tweet, he called <em><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/988128753430638592\">\u201cself-victimization\u201d<\/a><\/em> a \u201c<em>desease<\/em>\u201d and in another lamented that, while slavery no longer exists in America, slavery is still a<em><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/988128539231711237\">\u201cmentality\u201d<\/a><\/em> for some people.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Constantly bringing up the past keeps you stuck there<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/988126492608495616?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 22, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h2>3. \u201cThe thought police want to suppress freedom of thought\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>Seemingly in response to a backlash to his support of Owens, West went on another rant about how the <em>\u201cthought police\u201d<\/em> are trying to suppress him for his beliefs. <em>\u201cWe have freedom of speech but not freedom of thought,\u201d<\/em> he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/988122800459104256\">wrote<\/a> in another tweet.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The thought police want to suppress freedom of thought<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/988122922936975360?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 22, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h2>4. \u201cDon&#8217;t follow crowds.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>West has also offered up some life advice about following your feelings and not the <em>\u201cthoughts that have been placed in our heads\u201d<\/em> by other people.<em> \u201cDon&#8217;t follow crowds. Follow the innate feelings inside of you. Do what you feel not what you think,\u201d<\/em> the rapper wrote.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Don&#8217;t follow crowds. Follow the innate feelings inside of you. Do what you feel not what you think. Thoughts have been placed in our heads to make everyone assimilate. Follow what you feel.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/986624114579333120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 18, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h2>5. \u201cHard-core capitalists\u201d are bad<\/h2>\n<p>In a series of tweets about how some people have the ability to <em>\u201cshift consciousness\u201d<\/em> while others don\u2019t, West vented his frustration with<em> \u201chard-core capitalists\u201d<\/em> who are <em>\u201ccreating the illusion that the value of money is worth more than the value of time and friends.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Presumably, the advice about not following crowds and hard-core capitalism being bad will be suspended when West releases his new \u201cYeezy\u201d shoes, or drops a new album.<\/p>\n<h2>6. \u201cControversy is my gym\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>In what could easily become the lyrics of a new song, West tweeted about how he values truth and is not afraid of controversy. <em>\u201cTruth is my goal. Controversy is my gym. I&#8217;ll do a hundred reps of controversy for a 6 pack of truth,\u201d<\/em> he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>You can almost hear him rapping it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">truth is my goal. Controversy is my gym. I&#8217;ll do a hundred reps of controversy for a 6 pack of truth<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/986756823981015040?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 19, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h2>7. \u201cI\u2019m in the future\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>In a tweet about how much he loves his new Tesla car, West thanked SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. <em>\u201cI heard these are really good for the environment,\u201d<\/em> he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/988239755862097921\">mused<\/a> in another tweet, presumably about the Tesla<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I really love my Tesla. I&#8217;m in the future. Thank you Elon.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/988239336788279296?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 23, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h2>8. \u201cTo fear God makes no sense\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>West has also dipped into religion in his latest tweets, criticizing the idea that people should be \u201cGod fearing\u201d and calling this a <em>\u201cdated mentality\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><em>That kind of mentality is \u201cused to control people,\u201d<\/em> he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kanyewest\/status\/987699874362675201\">wrote<\/a>. <em>\u201cWe are in the future. If God is love and love it&#8217;s [sic] the opposite of fear then&#8230; to fear God makes no sense.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I don&#8217;t subscribe the term and concept of God fearing.  That&#8217;s a dated mentality that was used to control people. We are in the future. West has been getting political elsewhere, too. In an conversation with Hot 97 radio host Ebro Darden, West reportedly said he loved President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>But the rapper has had a tumultuous relationship with the president. West famously met with the then president-elect at Trump Tower in New York in 2016 to<em> \u201cdiscuss multicultural issues\u201d<\/em> \u2014 but later deleted his pro-Trump tweets, after the president\u2019s so-called \u2018Muslim ban\u2019 was introduced.<\/p>\n<p>West\u2019s relationship with former president Barack Obama was also the subject of controversy.
