The only problems, he added, were related to paperwork as applying for the maternity allowance with a male social security number was impossible through the online service of the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela).<\/p>\n<p>The Finnish trans act stipulates that a person who has undergone gender re-assignment must be sterilised by hormone therapy before their gender identity is updated on official government records.
