An FBI agent shot Tamerlan Tsarnaev-linked triple murder suspect Ibragim Todashev in Florida, allegedly after the suspect attacked him with a knife. But Todashev\u2019s father Abdulbaki told RT he strongly doubted his son could attack the agent first.<\/p>\n

Following reports that a Chechen man Ibragim Todashev, suspected
\nin a 2011 triple murder in Massachusetts alongside the elder
\nTsarnaev and questioned about the Boston bombings previously, was
\nshot by an FBI agent during interrogation<\/a> in
\nOrlando, Florida, RT had a phone conversation with the suspect\u2019s
\nfather.<\/p>\n

The elder Todashev described his son as \u201ca very calm\u201d<\/i>
\nman, who wouldn\u2019t become aggressive for no reason.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever in his life would he attack anyone unprovoked,\u201d<\/i>
\nAbdulbaki Todashev stressed.<\/p>\n

Abdulbaki, who lives in Grozny, Chechnya, said he was not
\ncontacted by anyone from the US, and his only sources about
\nIbragim\u2019s fate were neighbors citing media agencies.<\/p>\n

\"IbragimHaving heard the reports that
\nIbragim was questioned by a group of people, including several
\npolicemen, Abdulbaki also said he does not believe he would rush to
\nengage in a one-sided fight.<\/p>\n

He explained that his 27-year-old son studied in the Russian
\ncity of Saratov, and later in Grozny, but decided to give up his
\neducation and move to the US after going on a student internship
\nthere.<\/p>\n

Ibragim decided to leave for Florida because he \u201cliked
\nAmerica,\u201d<\/i> Abdulbaki explained, adding he never got to know what
\noccupation, if any, his son had in the US, other than practicing
\nsports.<\/p>\n

Abdulbaki said they were not acquainted with the Tsarnaev family
\nat home in Chechnya. Ibragim knew Tamerlan Tsarnaev only because
\nthey went to the same gym when he stayed in Boston, he added.<\/p>\n

Ibragim \u201ccouldn\u2019t take part\u201d<\/i> in the Boston Marathon
\nbombings as he was undergoing a surgical operation on his tendons
\nin Florida days before the bombings and \u201chad to learn how to
\nwalk again,\u201d<\/i> the father said.<\/p>\n

Todashev\u2019s friend Kushen Taramov said he and Ibragim had been
\ninterrogated about the bombings earlier this week.<\/p>\n

But reports said that on Wednesday the investigators were
\nquestioning Todashev over his alleged role in an unsolved 2011
\ntriple homicide in Waltham, Massachusetts, which the bombing
\nsuspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have been implicated in,
\nand that he was ready to sign a confession.<\/p>\n

Todashev allegedly took out a knife and attacked the FBI agent
\nquestioning him, but was shot to death.<\/p>\n

Taramov said Ibragim was going to fly back home to Chechnya, but
\nthe FBI insisted that he postpone his trip for \u201cone last\u201d<\/i>
\ninterview. Abdulbaki also knew that his son was flying to Grozny on
\nMay 24.<\/p>\n
