{"id":345555,"date":"2018-01-26T20:46:36","date_gmt":"2018-01-26T19:46:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/ukip-leader-admits-he-loves-ex-girlfriend-despite-racist-comments-rt-uk-news\/"},"modified":"2018-01-26T20:46:36","modified_gmt":"2018-01-26T19:46:36","slug":"ukip-leader-admits-he-loves-ex-girlfriend-despite-racist-comments-rt-uk-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/ukip-leader-admits-he-loves-ex-girlfriend-despite-racist-comments-rt-uk-news\/","title":{"rendered":"UKIP leader admits he loves ex-girlfriend despite racist comments \u2014 RT UK News"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>        UKIP leader Henry Bolton has admitted, exclusively to RT, that he is still in love with his former partner Jo Marney, despite the on-off couple facing a massive backlash over her racist comments.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Bolton told Sam Delaney, host of RT\u2019s talk show News Thing, that there are still <em>\u201cdeep feelings there,\u201d<\/em> while denying the couple were still an item.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe focus for me is getting UKIP back on its feet so it can project into politics,\u201d<\/em> Bolton said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"arcticle__read-more read-more\">\n<p>Read more<\/p>\n<p>    <a class=\"read-more__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/uk\/416839-ukip-bolton-farage-return\/\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"read-more__cover\" src=\"https:\/\/cdni.rt.com\/files\/2018.01\/thumbnail\/5a686b38fc7e93b8498b4567.jpg\" alt=\" \u00a9 Global Look Press\"\/><br \/>\n    <\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>The UKIP leader\u2019s career hit the rocks after texts of Marney&#8217;s were released, one of which read that Prince Harry\u2019s fianc\u00e9e Meghan Markle would \u201ctaint the Royal Family.\u201d In the leak she also made racist comments about black people, saying she would never have sex with a <em>\u201cnegro\u201d<\/em> because they are <em>\u201cugly\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Follow the leak and the subsequent furor, Bolton hastily broke off the relationship in a bid to save his position as the party leader.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this several days later he was pictured with Marney travelling on the London Underground, following which he suggested he might rekindle their relationship if it were not an obstacle to UKIP\u2019s success.<\/p>\n<p>Bolton has vowed to stay on as the party\u2019s leader despite the party passing a vote of no confidence in his leadership over his on-off relationship.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he thought Marney was racist, Bolton told RT: <em>\u201cThose were racist comments.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When Delaney pushed him further claiming making racist comments equates to being racist, Bolton once again dodged the question saying:<em> \u201cThose were racist comments; I\u2019ve said I don\u2019t believe that they reflect her core beliefs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GSQbugkCJvo\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Bolton went on to explain why he is so determined to stay on as party leader and said that while it is <em>\u201ctempting to parachute and jump out,\u201d<\/em> he feels compelled to stay.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI didn\u2019t get into this for any personal benefit whatsoever,\u201d<\/em> Bolton said.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI spent my entire life serving my country.
