After all, a year after the bulls had reached this level came the infamous Black Monday crash that sent the <a class=\"inline_quotes\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/?symbol=.DJI\" data-gdsid=\"599362\" data-inline-quote-symbol=\".DJI\">Dow Jones industrials<\/a> down nearly 22 percent in a single day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSentiment readings have roughly followed their 1986\/87 pattern.
