However, one bitcoin wallet gained more than $64 million within a matter of minutes. <\/p>\n<div class=\"article__text text  js-mediator-article\">\n<p>On Wednesday, NiceHash <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/NiceHash\/comments\/7i0s6o\/official_press_release_statement_by_nicehash\/\">announced<\/a> there was a security breach involving the company\u2019s website which compromised their payment services, and the contents of the users\u2019 bitcoin wallets. The announcement came 12 hours after NiceHash suddenly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NiceHash\/posts\/2012288672323602\">informed<\/a> users that they were undergoing maintenance.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FNiceHash%2Fposts%2F2012613285624474&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"283\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowtransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Two hours later, a user by the name of Erik Callesen posted an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10210949469874265&amp;set=p.10210949469874265&amp;type=3&amp;theater\">image<\/a> showing an outgoing transaction he claimed he did not make.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEither I got hacked or something is up,\u201d<\/em> Callesen wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Callesen added that $56 million had been sent to one bitcoin wallet address.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI think I got jacked and probably a lot of other folks?\u201d<\/em> Callesen wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Many other users responded to the company\u2019s maintenance tweet, saying that they had money stolen.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\"><center><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Guys, I don&#8217;t want to be negative, but I think all their BTC is gone. The service said they were <em>\u201cworking to verify the precise number of BTC taken.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/62-million-gone-cryptocurrency-mining-market-nicehash-hacked\/\">CoinDesk<\/a> reported that as many as 4,736.42 bitcoin, worth more than $62 million at the time, was stolen and transferred to one account.<\/p>\n<p>Several users pointed to a <a href=\"https:\/\/bitinfocharts.com\/bitcoin\/address\/1EnJHhq8Jq8vDuZA5ahVh6H4t6jh1mB4rq\">Bitcoin wallet address<\/a> that was opened Tuesday at 9:07pm, which went from a balance of 0.01 bitcoin, valued just over $123, to a balance of 4,655.25 bitcoin, worth $57.7 million, after the user made more than 3,000 transactions around 9:17pm.<\/p>\n<p>RT America looked into some of the users that claimed to have been affected by the hack and confirmed their money had been transferred to the mysterious bitcoin wallet address.<\/p>\n<p>The full extent of the hack is still unclear and the company has not provided any updates since they announced the hack.<\/p>\n<p>The wallet currently has a balance of 4,736.42 bitcoin, worth $64,080,393.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to conducting an internal investigation, NiceHash said that they have reported the incident to <em>\u201crelevant authorities and law enforcement\u201d<\/em> and are <em>\u201cco-operating with them as a matter of urgency.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cClearly, this is a matter of deep concern and we are working hard to rectify the matter in the coming days,\u201d<\/em> the announcement said. \u201c<em>We are fully committed to restoring the NiceHash service with the highest security measures at the earliest opportunity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>NiceHash has advised users to change their passwords as a precaution.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"media__youtube-frame\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300px\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0IuXhlIbTVE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"http:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/412223-nicehash-bitcoin-hacked-million\/?utm_source=rss&#038;utm_medium=rss&#038;utm_campaign=RSS\">RT<\/a>.
