{"id":336347,"date":"2017-11-24T04:38:35","date_gmt":"2017-11-24T03:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/russia-turkey-iran-meet-on-syria-at-sochi-summit\/"},"modified":"2017-11-24T04:38:35","modified_gmt":"2017-11-24T03:38:35","slug":"russia-turkey-iran-meet-on-syria-at-sochi-summit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/russia-turkey-iran-meet-on-syria-at-sochi-summit\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia, Turkey, Iran meet on Syria at Sochi Summit"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3 class=\"nomargin\">\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h2>Russia, Turkey, Iran meet on Syria at Sochi Summit<\/h2>\n<h5>\n<p>    By<br \/>\n    Halil Celik<br \/>\n    <br \/>23 November 2017<\/p>\n<\/h5>\n<p>Yesterday, the presidents of Turkey, Russia and Iran met at a summit in the Black Sea resort town of Sochi to discuss the future of Syria, as a military victory against the Islamic State (IS) and other Islamic forces is imminent.<\/p>\n<p>Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani issued a joint statement calling on \u201crepresentatives of the government of the Syrian Arab Republic and the opposition to constructively participate in the Syrian National Dialogue Congress.\u201d The three presidents also restated their commitment to protecting \u201cthe national sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Describing the talks as \u201cconstructive and businesslike,\u201d Putin said the presidents \u201cdiscussed in detail the basic aspects of the Syrian settlement and agreed to continue taking the most active efforts to solve the main task: to establish peace and stability in that country, preserve its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>About \u201cthe idea of convening a pan-Syrian forum\u2013a Syrian National Dialogue Congress,\u201d Putin said: \u201cIt has been agreed to arrange for this most important event at the proper level and to ensure participation in it of the wide strata of Syrian society.
