assault, ignored a reporter who asked a question about the claims against Senator Al Franken. prompting an NBC anchor to sarcastically state that she \u201cCan\u2019t imagine why.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NBC correspondent Tammy Leitner described her exchange with Clinton who is in Puerto Rico on a Clinton Foundation trip to survey hurricane damage and relief activity:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI asked him about the senator\u2019s recent comments, and he looked at me, kind of half-smirked, and kept going,\u201d Leitner told anchor Kasie Hunt, who had asked her if she had confronted Clinton about the issue.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H4BwrPl_Ao4\" frameborder=\"0\" gesture=\"media\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So, Clinton \u201csmirked,\u201d in response to a question about an elected representative being accused of sexual harassment.<\/p>\n<p>How telling.<!-- [donotprint] --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ppani\">\n<li>A d v e r t i s e m e n t<\/li>\n<li\/><\/ul>\n<p><!-- [\/donotprint] --><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wanted nothing to do with that, so he didn\u2019t give us an answer,\u201d Leitner added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan\u2019t imagine why,\u201d Hunt replied.<\/p>\n<p>It was a rare moment on MSNBC where the female reporters appeared to deviate from the company policy of downplaying charges of sexual harassment against leftist figureheads.<\/p>\n<p>In other programming aired Monday, Katy Tur and guest Rebecca Weir openly downplayed the charges against Franken, suggesting that while \u201cgood people can do bad things,\u201d Franken shouldn\u2019t \u201close everything [he\u2019s] worked for,\u201d \u201cnegat[ing] years of good.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MRC TV video player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mrctv.org\/embed\/525226\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In addition, Tur repeated a statement from Franken\u2019s female ex-staffers, who attempted to defend the Senator, describing him as \u201ca champion for women both in the legislation he supported and in promoting women to leadership roles in our office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle warned that being too hard on Franken for what he did could lead down a \u201cslippery
