The bill was named after US student Otto Warmbier, who died in June following his release from custody in North Korea.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article__text text  js-mediator-article\">\n<p>The Otto Warmbier North Korea Nuclear Sanctions Act was passed in the House of Representatives on Tuesday evening, supported by 415 lawmakers, with two votes against. The act was designed to \u201cimpose the most far-reaching sanctions ever directed at North Korea,\u201d according to Republican Andy Barr, who <a href=\"https:\/\/barr.house.gov\/media-center\/press-releases\/the-house-passes-barr-s-north-korea-sanctions-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">introduced<\/a> the bill.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The House just passed the Otto Warmbier North Korea Nuclear Sanctions Act, my bill to put the harshest sanctions ever on Pyongyang.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep.
