Many of the ships have features that are only known from drawings or written description but never seen until now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Carvings in the wood of some ships have remained intact for centuries, while well-preserved rope was found aboard one 2,000-year-old Roman vessel.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmi-gold-silver.com\/gold-silver-daily-spot-prices\/?utm_source=LRC&amp;utm_medium=textad&amp;utm_campaign=spotprices\">Instant Access to Current Spot Prices &amp; Interactive Charts<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The project, known Black Sea Maritime Archaeology Project (Black Sea MAP), involves an international team led by the University of Southampton\u2019s Centre for Maritime Archaeology.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Ed Parker, CEO of Black Sea MAP, said: \u2018Some of the ships we discovered had only been seen on murals and mosaics until this moment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018There\u2019s one medieval trading vessel where the towers on the bow and stern are pretty much still there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018It\u2019s as if you are looking at a ship in a movie, with ropes still on the deck and carvings in the wood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018When I saw that ship, the excitement really started to mount \u2013 what we have found is truly unrivalled.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Most of the vessels found are around 1,300 years old, but the oldest dates back to the 4th Century BC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Many of the wrecks\u2019 details and locations are being kept secret by the team to ensure they remain undisturbed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Black Sea water below 150&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lewrockwell.com\/2017\/09\/no_author\/ghostly-graveyard-of-60-perfectly-preserved-ancient-shipwrecks-is-found-by-climate-scientists-at-the-bottom-of-the-black-sea\/\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dozens of perfectly preserved ancient shipwrecks have been found at the bottom of the Black Sea.
