{"id":324610,"date":"2017-09-04T23:24:35","date_gmt":"2017-09-04T22:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/europe-jihadists-posing-as-migrants\/"},"modified":"2017-09-04T23:24:35","modified_gmt":"2017-09-04T22:24:35","slug":"europe-jihadists-posing-as-migrants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/europe-jihadists-posing-as-migrants\/","title":{"rendered":"Europe: Jihadists Posing As Migrants"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>      <!-- START CONTENT --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Soren Kern<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gatestoneinstitute.org\/10929\/europe-jihadists-migrants\"><br \/>The Gatestone Institute<\/a><br \/>Sept 4, 2017<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>More than 50,000 jihadists are now living in Europe.<\/strong> \u2013 Gilles de Kerchove, EU Counterterrorism Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Europol, the European police office, has <strong>identified at least 30,000 active jihadist websites,<\/strong> but EU legislation no longer requires internet service providers to collect and preserve metadata \u2013 including data on the location of jihadists \u2013 from their customers <strong>due to privacy concerns. <\/strong>De Kerchove said this was <strong>hindering the ability of police to identify and deter jihadists.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>German authorities are <strong>hunting for dozens of members of one of the most violent jihadist groups in Syria,<\/strong> Jabhat al-Nusra, but who, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/spiegel\/terroristen-fahnder-jagen-60-islamistische-kaempfer-in-deutschland-a-1165656.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to <em>Der Spiegel<\/em>, <strong>entered Germany disguised as refugees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The men, all former members of Liwa Owais al-Qorani, a rebel group destroyed by the Islamic State in 2014, are believed to have massacred hundreds of Syrians, both soldiers and civilians.<\/p>\n<p><strong>German police have reportedly identified around 25 of the jihadists and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kn-online.de\/News\/Aktuelle-Nachrichten-Schleswig-Holstein\/Nachrichten-Schleswig-Holstein\/Vier-Terrorverdaechtige-festgenommen-Jabhat-al-Nusra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">apprehended<\/a> some of them, but dozens more are believed to be hiding in cities and towns across Germany.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In all, <strong>more than 400 migrants who entered Germany as asylum seekers in 2015 and 2016 are now being investigated for being members of Middle Eastern jihadists groups,<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.handelsblatt.com\/politik\/deutschland\/bka-bericht-zahl-der-fluechtlinge-unter-terrorverdacht-steigt\/13922948.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the Federal Criminal Police (<em>Bundeskriminalamt, BKA<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The revelation comes amid new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/migrant-crisis-europe-under-threat-from-terrorists-posing-as-migrants-jz9908nct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">warnings<\/a> that jihadists are posing as migrants and arriving from North Africa on boats across the Mediterranean and onto Italian shores.
