It has been finally conquered, snatched back from the notorious group, Daesh, after months of merciless bombardment by the US-led war coalition, and a massive ground war.<\/p>\n<p>But \u2018victory\u2019 can hardly be the term assigned to this moment.\u00a0 Mosul, once Iraq\u2019s cultural jewel and model of co-existence, is now a \u2018city of corpses\u2019, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/400878-mosul-corpses-rubble-exclusive\/\">described<\/a> by a foreign journalist who walked through the ruins, while shielding his nose from a foul smell.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve probably heard of thousands killed, the civilian suffering,\u201d Murad Gazdiev said. \u201cWhat you likely haven\u2019t heard of is the smell. It\u2019s nauseating, repulsive, and it\u2019s everywhere \u2013 the smell of rotting bodies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Actually, the \u201csmell of rotting bodies\u201d can be found everywhere that Daesh has been defeated.
