Fox claimed its viewership\u00a0<em>\u201caverages only a few thousand\u201d<\/em>\u00a0in the UK as it is mainly focused on the US market.<\/p>\n<p>Sky stopped broadcasting Fox News at 4pm local time Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News\u2019 holding company, 21st Century Fox, owns a 39 percent share in Sky whose current contract to broadcast Fox News was due to expire at the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The company is currently involved in a takeover bid for the remaining 61 percent of Sky, a deal that has been slowed down by UK Culture Secretary Karen Bradley, who is debating whether to launch an antitrust investigation into the deal.<\/p>\n<p>If successful, the Murdoch family would have full control of Sky News, as well as the Times, Sunday Times and Sun newspapers and radio group TalkSport, through their separate company News Corp.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News is reeling from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/386139-former-fox-employee-sues-surveillance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">multiple<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/386776-shine-fox-resign-harassment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">allegations<\/a> of sexual assault, harassment and discrimination by senior executives and anchors.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/389626-fox-ratings-msm-trust\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">READ MORE: Fox News\u2019 ratings slide as Americans\u2019 mistrust of mainstream media grows<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition, Roger Ailes, the founder and one-time chairman of Fox News who helped sculpt the brand, died earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/388815-former-fox-news-founder-roger-ailes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this year<\/a>.
