The new White House communications director has promised to take \u201cdrastic action\u201d to prevent leaks from the Trump administration, warning, \u201cthey\u2019re going to get fired\u201d if the leaks do not stop.<\/p>\n

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Anthony Scaramucci told host Chris Wallace he was willing to enforce hardline reforms of the White House\u2019s communications department \u2013 and would even be willing to \u201cpare down the staff.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s not fair to the president, it\u2019s actually not fair to America or the people in the government,\u201d<\/em> Scaramucci said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to be able to stop the leaks in the intergovernmental agencies and all that other stuff, that\u2019s a different ball of wax. But something is going on in the White House that the president does not like and we\u2019re going to fix it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Pressed to elaborate on his pledge to cut down staff, Scaramucci said, \u201cAs far as I\u2019m concerned, it\u2019s a new start for everyone in [the communications] team. Everyone on that team can stay if they follow protocol against the leaks.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In another interview on CBS News<\/a>, Scaramucci was even more explicit: \u201cThey\u2019re going to get fired. I\u2019m just going to make it very, very clear.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer resigned last week over objections to Scaramucci\u2019s appointment as communications director.<\/p>\n

Scaramucci, 52, is a major Republican donor and longstanding supporter of Donald Trump, notwithstanding previous\u00a0criticism he leveled at the US president. He is also the founder of investment firm SkyBridge Capital.<\/p>\n

In a news conference shortly after his appointment, Scaramucci revealed that he\u2019s been personal friends with White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus for six years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a little bit like brothers where we rough each other up once in a while \u2013 which is totally normal for brothers,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

In 2015, Scaramucci<\/a> branded Trump a \u201chack politician\u201d<\/em> on Fox Business after he criticized the hedge fund industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe politicians don\u2019t want to go at Trump because he\u2019s got a mouth and they\u2019re afraid he will light them up on Fox News. I\u2019m not a politician. You\u2019re an inherited money dude from Queens County,\u201d<\/em> Scaramucci said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
