The site of the statue, which is meant to emphasise the divisions of church and state, was subsequently designated a \u2018Free Speech Zone\u2019 by the city council.<\/p>\n<p>However, following the designation, the Satanic Temple proposed erecting their own monument inside the zone.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/394519-kentucky-bible-school-bevin\/\">READ MORE: Kentucky governor approves Bible study in public schools<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In an effort to dispel the controversy, the soldier and cross statue was removed from the park Friday.
