It calls for an end to racism and the killing of black people by police.<\/p>\n<p>Grodner has filed two suits against the leaders of the group, including Deray Mckesson and Johnetta Elzie on behalf of Louisiana police. Crowdfunding site, YouCaring, removed the campaign from its site on Sunday, saying it\u2019s not the right platform for such a cause.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIn alignment with our mission, we removed this fundraiser because it was not within our community guidelines around promoting harmony,\u201d<\/em> Marketing Officer Maly Ly told NewsHour Weekend, as <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.news.yahoo.com\/black-lives-matter-crowdfunding-removes-090812847.html\">cited <\/a>by Yahoo.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are not the right platform to air grievances, or engage in contentious disputes or controversial public opinion.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Grodner created a page on another crowdfunding site, GoFundMe, after being removed from YouCaring.<strong\/><\/p>\n<p>First lawsuit \u2013 debris injury<\/p>\n<p>One of the suits filed by Grodner accuses BLM of being responsible for an unnamed officer reportedly getting hit by debris at a July 9 protest, which took place after the fatal shootings of Alton Sterling and motorist Philando Castile a day later in Minnesota. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A<em> \u201crock-like substance\u201d<\/em> hit the officer in the face, causing him to lose his teeth, the Seattle Times <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/nation-world\/can-black-lives-matter-be-sued-activists-attorney-says-no\/\">reports<\/a>. The suit doesn\u2019t accuse Mckesson of throwing anything, but of having<em> \u201cincited violence\u201d<\/em> on behalf of BLM.<\/p>\n<p>The suit was filed in November and in March, a judge <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/rundown\/baton-rouge-officer-wounded-lone-shooter-sues-black-lives-matter\/\">said<\/a> the question was <em>\u201cwhether under Louisiana law, Black Lives Matter is capable of suing and being sued,\u201d<\/em> and is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theadvocate.com\/baton_rouge\/news\/courts\/article_03ca33c6-5077-11e7-a918-bbf45f488d66.html\">yet<\/a> to make that decision.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nola.com\/crime\/index.ssf\/2017\/07\/lawsuit_alleges_baton_rouge_po.html\">lawsuit<\/a> was filed on Sunday against Baton Rouge and Louisiana police by 13 protesters and two journalists arrested during the same Baton Rouge protests.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Second suit \u2013 Gavin Long shooting<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The second <a href=\"http:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/black-lives-matter.pdf\">suit<\/a>, filed Friday in Baton Rouge, accuses the movement of being responsible for an attack on police by gunman Gavin Long on July 17, 2016. Two police officers and a sheriff died, and two deputies and an officer were injured in the attack.<\/p>\n<p>BLM members Mckesson, Elzie, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi are named in the suit, which alleges the <em>\u201cviolence was caused or contributed to by the leaders of and by \u201cBLACK LIVES MATTER\u201d a militant anti-police national organization.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The suit, filed by one of the officers injured in the attack, seeks at least $75,000 in damages and claims BLM are to blame for the man\u2019s injuries as it <em>\u201cincited violence against police,\u201d<\/em> and <em>\u201cdid nothing to dissuade the ongoing violence and injury to police.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The suit accuses the group of having <em>\u201cjustified the violence as necessary to the movement and war.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;By embracing and supporting violence in protest that could have been conducted peacefully, BLM declared a virtual war on police,&#8221;<\/em> it says.<\/p>\n<p>Long, a recently discharged Marine, left a three-page <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ebrda.org\/ois\/Photographs\/Long%20Suicide%20Note_Redacted.pdf\">note<\/a> saying he wanted to target police officers because of the justice system\u2019s failure to hold <em>\u201cbad\u201d<\/em> cops accountable for their actions, and to<em> \u201ccreate substantial change within America\u2019s police force and judicial system.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Long had not attended any BLM protests, an investigative report found, the Washington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/morning-mix\/wp\/2017\/07\/10\/permanently-disabled-baton-rouge-officer-sues-black-lives-matter-for-2016-ambush-shooting\/?utm_term=.612c9ba7a052\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/396029-anti-blm-crowdfunding-removed\/?utm_source=rss&#038;utm_medium=rss&#038;utm_campaign=RSS\">RT<\/a>.
