{"id":316093,"date":"2017-07-06T14:18:42","date_gmt":"2017-07-06T13:18:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/the-national-geographic-hell-on-earth-syria-hoax\/"},"modified":"2017-07-06T14:18:42","modified_gmt":"2017-07-06T13:18:42","slug":"the-national-geographic-hell-on-earth-syria-hoax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/the-national-geographic-hell-on-earth-syria-hoax\/","title":{"rendered":"The National Geographic Hell on Earth Syria Hoax"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>On April 5, 2017, National Geographic released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FlrsX0xx9MQ\">preview<\/a> of its film, <em>Hell on Earth: The Fall Of Syria And The Rise of ISIS<\/em><em>, <\/em>by filmmaker Sebastian Junger and producing partner Nick Quested:<\/p>\n<p>The film itself debuted on April 26, 2017, at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and on the <em>National Geographic<\/em> channel on June 11.\u00a0 Junger and Quested persuaded NG to <a href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/2017\/04\/hell-on-earth-syria-documetary-sneak-peek-natgeo-video-1202062495\/\">release the preview early<\/a>, following the suspected chemical attacks in Syria on April 4.<\/p>\n<p>There are, unfortunately, several problems with the footage in both the preview and the film, as well as with the claims made by the filmmakers and <em>National Geographic<\/em>.\u00a0 The most glaring of these is that the opening scene of the trailer is a total fraud.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/2017\/07\/the-national-geographic-hell-on-earth-syria-hoax\/unnamed-255\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-69688\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69688\" src=\"http:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/unnamed-e1499333598162.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/2017\/07\/the-national-geographic-hell-on-earth-syria-hoax\/unnamed-256\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-69689\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69689\" src=\"http:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/unnamed-1-e1499333828985.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The scene shows a missile destroying a residential building with a thunderous explosion.\u00a0 Imposed over the footage are the words, ALEPPO, SYRIA.\u00a0 The clear implication is that the missile is part of a Russian or Syrian Air Force attack in the battle for Aleppo.<\/p>\n<p>But how would the videographer have known where to position the camera in preparation for such an attack?\u00a0 Surprisingly, there is a logical answer to this question, because there are, in fact, circumstances where victims are told in advance the location and time of a missile strike.<\/p>\n<p>Such a location is Gaza, and the time is when Israeli soldiers call the inhabitants of a house by phone and tell them to get out in 15 minutes or be blown up.
