{"id":315546,"date":"2017-07-02T20:00:46","date_gmt":"2017-07-02T19:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/1-killed-6-hurt-as-car-plows-into-group-of-teenagers-in-london\/"},"modified":"2017-07-02T20:00:46","modified_gmt":"2017-07-02T19:00:46","slug":"1-killed-6-hurt-as-car-plows-into-group-of-teenagers-in-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/1-killed-6-hurt-as-car-plows-into-group-of-teenagers-in-london\/","title":{"rendered":"1 killed, 6 hurt as car plows into group of teenagers in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>At least one person has died and six others injured after a car plowed into a crowd of teenagers on a sidewalk in south London.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Police said Sunday that a manhunt was underway for the driver of a red convertible Audi, who fled the scene of the crash that killed a 16-year-old girl in Croydon at around 1:30 am local time.<\/p>\n<p>Three of the six teenagers hit by the car had serious injuries, according to a spokeswoman for the London ambulance service.<\/p>\n<p>The Scotland Yard said it did not believe that the incident was a deliberate attack but still asked people information to come forward.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Sergeant Jose Qureshi appealed directly to the driver of the vehicle and asked him to turn himself in.<\/p>\n<p>Police kept the area at the Pixton Way cordoned off before leaving the scene at around noon.
