{"id":311652,"date":"2017-06-07T06:00:42","date_gmt":"2017-06-07T05:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/man-connected-to-manchester-terror-attack-arrested-at-london-airport\/"},"modified":"2017-06-07T06:00:42","modified_gmt":"2017-06-07T05:00:42","slug":"man-connected-to-manchester-terror-attack-arrested-at-london-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/man-connected-to-manchester-terror-attack-arrested-at-london-airport\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Connected to Manchester Terror Attack Arrested at London Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>      <!-- START CONTENT --><\/p>\n<p>38-year-old being held on suspicion of offenses related to UK\u2019s Terrorism Act<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mikael Thalen<\/strong><br \/>Prison Planet.com<br \/>June 6, 2017<\/p>\n<p>A man with connections to last month\u2019s terror attack at a concert in Manchester was arrested Tuesday, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: Man arrested at Heathrow Airport in connection with Manchester Arena attack <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/lw6nUwhch3\">pic.twitter.com\/lw6nUwhch3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 G M Police (@gmpolice) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gmpolice\/status\/872225885759447043\">June 6, 2017<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The 38-year-old man, who was targeted as part of a pre-planned operation, was taken into custody at Heathrow Airport.<!-- [donotprint] --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ppani\">\n<li>A d v e r t i s e m e n t<\/li>\n<li\/><\/ul>\n<p><!-- [\/donotprint] --><\/p>\n<p>The suspect is currently being held on suspicion of offenses related to the UK\u2019s Terrorism Act.<\/p>\n<p>A statement released by the GMP on Twitter asserted that there was no direct threat to Heathrow during the arrest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe arrest was planned beforehand and there was no direct threat to the airport,\u201d the GMP said.<\/p>\n<p>The latest arrest makes 19 in connection with the May 22nd suicide bombing which took the lives of 22 people at an Ariana Grande concert.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"620\" height=\"320\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EqaWWpbdw-c\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The GMP also stated that 12 of the 19 people taken into custody have since been released without charge.<\/p>\n<p>The bomber, 22-year-old Salman Abedi, had recently returned from Libya where his father, Ramadan, had been living since 2011. <\/p>\n<p>Both Abedi\u2019s father and brother Hashim were arrested in Libya on May 24.
