So after inventing \u201cfake news<\/a>\u201d, America\u2019s crazed\u00a0President\u00a0on Sunday gave the world\u2019s Muslims\u00a0a fake speech<\/a>. Donald Trump said he was not in\u00a0Saudi Arabia<\/a>\u00a0to \u201clecture\u201d \u2013 but then told the world\u2019s Islamic preachers what to say, condemned \u201cIslamist terrorism\u201d as if violence was a solely Muslim phenomenon and then announced like an Old Testament prophet that he was in\u00a0\u201ca battle between good and evil\u201d<\/a>. There were no words of compassion, none of mercy, absolutely not a word of apology for his racist, anti-Muslim speeches of last year.<\/p>\n

Even more incredibly, he blamed Iran \u2013 rather than Isis \u2013 for \u201cfuelling sectarian violence\u201d, pitied the Iranian people for their \u201cdespair\u201d a day after they had freely elected a liberal reformer as their president, and demanded the further isolation of the largest Shiite\u00a0country\u00a0in the Middle East. The regime responsible for \u201cso much instability\u201d is Iran. The Shiite Hezbollah were condemned. So were the Shiite Yemenis. Trump\u2019s Sunni Saudi hosts glowed with warmth at such wisdom.<\/p>\n

And this was billed by CNN as a \u201creset\u201d speech with the Muslim world. For \u201creset\u201d, read \u201crepair\u201d, but Trump\u2019s Sunday diatribe in Riyadh was in fact neither a \u201creset\u201d\u00a0nor a \u201crepair\u201d. It was the lecture he claimed he would not give.<\/p>\n
