US President Donald Trump revealed he informed Chinese Premier Xi Jinping about the US air strike on a Syrian military base as the pair ate “the most beautiful” chocolate cake. He then mixed up Syria and Iraq \u2013 and the internet had a meltdown.<\/p>\n

Trump was speaking with Fox Business about the bizarre exchange with Chinese leader during a summit at his Mar-a-Lago estate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had finished dinner, we\u2019re now having dessert<\/em>,\u201d Trump began. \u201cAnd we had the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you\u2019ve ever seen and President Xi was enjoying it.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve just fired 59 missiles, all of which hit by the way, unbelievable, from hundreds of miles away, it\u2019s brilliant, it\u2019s genius, what we have in terms of technology no-one can come close to competing<\/em>,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I said, we\u2019ve just launched 59 missiles, heading to Iraq<\/em>,\u201d said the President, seemingly oblivious to his mistake. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHeading to Syria<\/em>,\u201d host Maria Bartiromo interjected. \u201cYes<\/em>,\u201d Trump replied, \u201cheading toward Syria<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Naturally, Twitter was set alight by the gaffe.<\/p>\n
