In your\u00a0average lifetime, everyone will get to see his or her share of\u00a0war propaganda films.\u00a0In\u00a0America, it\u2019s a kind of sacred tradition, where Hollywood does the job of revisionism, paving over an otherwise uncomfortable history with a new coat of stain. It\u2019s necessary \u2013 not just to make us feel better about ourselves, but also to cover-up any inconvenient truths and high crimes of the state.\"\"

To be honest, when I first heard about \u201cThe White Helmets\u201d film being promoted by Netflix, I wasn\u2019t surprised at all because ever since the Syria conflict began in 2011, the establishment\u00a0media has gone\u00a0out of its way to falsely promote it as a \u201ccivil war\u201d and have used the NGO known as the White Helmets<\/a>, which calls itself the \u201cSyria Civil Defense,\u201d as its primary media protagonist in furthering that narrative.<\/p>\n

The fact that a documentary about\u00a0The White Helmets<\/em> received an Oscar simply\u00a0confirms\u00a0what a glorious bubble the entertainment industry resides\u00a0in, and how easy it is these days for a\u00a0documentary film to be used for the purposes of propaganda and made\u00a0to reinforce a mainly U.S.-U.K. foreign policy project.<\/p>\n

To Hollywood, it\u2019s\u00a0a feel-good documentary, designed to make us feel good about a dirty war in Syria. But this is a level of distortion that would make even Joseph Goebbels\u2019s head spin.<\/p>\n

In his essay published at Global Research<\/a>, Dr. T.P. Wilkinson explains the liberal obsession with cosmetic revisionism:\u00a0\u201cThe \u2018wrong war\u2019 thesis is elemental to what Carroll Quigley called \u2018liberal imperialism\u2019 in his history of the Anglo-American establishment.
