{"id":297333,"date":"2017-03-02T23:43:03","date_gmt":"2017-03-02T22:43:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/rand-paul-obamacare-replacement-becoming-too-elaborate\/"},"modified":"2017-03-02T23:43:03","modified_gmt":"2017-03-02T22:43:03","slug":"rand-paul-obamacare-replacement-becoming-too-elaborate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/rand-paul-obamacare-replacement-becoming-too-elaborate\/","title":{"rendered":"Rand Paul: Obamacare Replacement Becoming \u201cToo Elaborate\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>      <!-- START CONTENT --><\/p>\n<p><strong>Senator warns of government programs creeping into healthcare bill<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Steve Watson<\/strong><br \/>Prison Planet.com<br \/>March 2, 2017<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kentucky Senator Rand Paul spoke eloquently on the ongoing issue of repealing and replacing Obamacare Wednesday, warning that the replacement legislation is at risk of being hijacked by government programs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are trying to make it too elaborate now, and they\u2019re adding in some government programs that I object to.\u201d Paul noted in an interview with Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can be done in a week with repeal of Obamacare, if they\u2019ll give us the repeal we voted previously.\u201d Paul added, warning that it was this kind of tampering that doomed Obamacare to begin with.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xjPU6MEoThs\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, for example, if you give people back money that they did not pay in taxes, that is basically an entitlement program.\u201d Paul explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, if you have a refundable tax credit, and you give everybody back money they did not pay in taxes, and you say we\u2019re going to help you with your health insurance with that, how is that different than Obamacare subsidies?\u201d the Senator added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just call them tax credits instead of subsidies, but they\u2019re the same thing. It\u2019s government money, of which there\u2019s a shortage of.\u201d Paul urged.<\/p>\n<p>Paul is adamant that the original repeal legislation, which he oversaw, is the only way to jettison Obamacare, and that the replacement of the program needs to be done separately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I think there is agreement on the previous repeal, put that forward, and we\u2019re done in ten minutes, I promise you. put forward the repeal we had that we all voted on. we\u2019re done in ten minutes.
