One day later, aspiring actor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/local\/lanow\/la-me-ln-actor-death-20170124-htmlstory.html\">Jay Bowdy<\/a>, 33, shot himself in a car after telling his followers, via Facebook Live, that he intended to take his life.<\/p>\n<p>On December 30, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/373496-georgia-suicide-video-online\/\">Katelyn Nicole Davis<\/a>, 12, died by suicide while posting a Facebook Live stream that lasted over 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/374480-mom-charged-taping-toddler\/\">READ MORE: Ohio mom charged after taping her toddler to a wall during Facebook Live broadcast (VIDEO)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Facebook has already added a service for its Messenger users to connect directly with crisis support organizations like Crisis Text Line, the National Eating Disorder Association, and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/notes\/mark-zuckerberg\/building-global-community\/10154544292806634\">previously said<\/a> he intends to use AI to identify terrorism, violence, and bullying across the social media network.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/2017\/our-latest-update-on-safety\">announced<\/a> on Wednesday it would work to identify accounts \u201c<em>engaging in abusive behavior<\/em>\u201d without having to rely on users to report it.<\/p>\n<p>The company says it will take action against abusive users by hiding their posts from non-followers for a set amount of time and will now allow users to block certain keywords or phrases from their timeline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>We aim to only act on accounts when we&#8217;re confident, based on our algorithms, that their behavior is abusive<\/em>,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/2017\/our-latest-update-on-safety\">wrote<\/a> Twitter\u2019s engineering chief Ed Ho.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/379110-facebook-artificial-intelligence-suicide\/?utm_source=rss&#038;utm_medium=rss&#038;utm_campaign=RSS\">RT<\/a>.
