Four biweekly lectures will follow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Russian Revolution created the world as we know it,\u201d North explains in the video. \u201cIt was the event which, for the first time, saw the conquest of power by the working class.\u201d The revolution demonstrated that, \u201cgiven the correct leadership, given the existence of a revolutionary party, it was possible for the working class to overthrow the capitalist system, come to power and establish a workers state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eLFC6IDb94A?rel=0&amp;hd=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><span style=\"background-color:#FFFFFF; padding-top:10px;\">WSWS Editorial Board Chairman David North discusses upcoming lecture series on Russian Revolution<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Those who have registered for the series come from every corner of the globe.
