Blockades, demonstrations and an event billed as a \u2018gay dance parade\u2019 are being planned in an attempt to sabotage Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration, as left-wing protesters look to up the ante in a day of civil disobedience against the US president-elect.<\/p>\n
A group known as #DisruptJ20, the most active in the day of disruption, have called for those opposed to Trump to join their \u201cbold mobilization\u201d<\/em> in Washington, DC, described as an attempt to \u201cshut down the Inauguration ceremonies and any related celebrations.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cIf Trump is to be inaugurated at all, let it happen behind closed doors, showing the true face of the security state Trump will preside over,\u201d<\/em> the group said in its call for action<\/a>.<\/p>\n Protesters are also planning a \u201cGiant Queer Dance Party\u201d<\/em> at the home of Vice-President-elect Mike Pence in the days leading up to the inauguration.<\/p>\n \u201cGet ready to WERK it and tell Daddy Pence: homo\/transphobia is not tolerated in our country!\u201d<\/em> the call to action reads.<\/p>\n Trump, known for his brash style, has become a figure of contempt for the US left-wing, vehemently opposed to the businessman-come-politician\u2019s election to the White House.<\/p>\n \u201cWe would like the headline the next day to be \u2018Donald Trump inaugurated amid complete chaos\u2019, not \u2018Donald Trump, inaugurated amid applause\u2019,\u201d<\/em> #DisruptJ20 organizer Legba Carrefour told WJLA<\/a>.<\/p>\n #DisruptJ20 plans to also hold unpermitted marches after failing to secure permits for all its planned events.<\/p>\n Other inauguration events arranged include \u2018Occupy Inauguration\u2019, with the group planning to march on Trump\u2019s inauguration and hold a rally of speakers and music across Washington DC.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re going to [be] blockading checkpoints into the security zones.
