{"id":287662,"date":"2016-12-29T07:51:03","date_gmt":"2016-12-29T06:51:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/an-alt-right-defense-of-the-u-s-constitution\/"},"modified":"2016-12-29T07:51:03","modified_gmt":"2016-12-29T06:51:03","slug":"an-alt-right-defense-of-the-u-s-constitution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/an-alt-right-defense-of-the-u-s-constitution\/","title":{"rendered":"An Alt-Right Defense of the U.S. Constitution"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"\">\n<p>An unfortunately common disparagement of Alt-Right activists is that <a href=\"https:\/\/voxday.blogspot.com\/2016\/06\/who-killed-conservatism.html\" target=\"_blank\">the United States Constitution has failed our people<\/a> and that \u201ccuckservatives\u201d are hopelessly moronic for worshiping the \u201cfailed document.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I disagree, for it is not the Constitution which has let down \u201courselves and our Posterity,\u201d but rather, our politicians and the (((special interests))) they support.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Learned_Hand\" target=\"_blank\">Judge Billings Learned Hand<\/a> (January 27, 1872 \u2013 August 18, 1961) is recognized as one of the most quoted trial court judges in American legal history, and a quote from him is applicable to this short essay:\u00a0 \u201cLiberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it; no constitution, no law, no court can even do much to help it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Badmouthing the Constitution\u2014an inherently European-inspired legal document\u2014and blaming it for the contemporary plight of the United States is as asinine as one postulating that had the document been drafted differently, the United States would instead be today Richard Spencer\u2019s White ethno-state.\u00a0 Even had the Constitution contained <a href=\"http:\/\/opinion.latimes.com\/opinionla\/2008\/05\/judicial-candid.html\" target=\"_blank\">William Johnson\u2019s Pace Amendment<\/a>, the document would not have brought about the result desired by Pepe\u2019s Kek-worshipping legions.<\/p>\n<p>When the Constitution is properly understood, it recognizes\u2014if not codifies, from a legal positivist perspective\u2014rights that exist per the Western Legal Tradition.\u00a0 It is precisely because of the Constitution that free speech is revered&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/redice.tv\/news\/an-alt-right-defense-of-the-u-s-constitution\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An unfortunately common disparagement of Alt-Right activists is that the United States Constitution has failed our people and that \u201ccuckservatives\u201d are hopelessly moronic for worshiping the \u201cfailed document.\u201d I disagree, for it is not the Constitution which has let down \u201courselves and our Posterity,\u201d but rather, our politicians and the (((special interests))) they support.
