A political analyst says the US and the Israeli regime are afraid of Iran for being the \u2018political mentor\u2019 in the Middle East and not its nuclear program, Press TV<\/strong> reports.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe real nuclear program that the West and particularly Israel is afraid of with regards to Iran, has nothing to do with splitting atoms in weapons of mass destruction, Mark Glenn, from the Crescent & Cross Solidarity Movement said in an interview with Press TV on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has to do with Iran\u2019s position in the Middle East and something of a spiritual and a political example for other countries to follow,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Glenn said Iran is the only country amongst these Middle Eastern players that has successfully toppled a US-backed regime in a \u201creal revolution\u201d in 1979 and has managed to secure independence from the West.<\/p>\n

The analyst said that Washington and Tel Aviv are afraid that Iran will become a \u201cpolitical mentor\u201d to other countries in the region, \u201cat which point the US, the West and Israel will lose their grip on these countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe real thing that America, the West and Israel are afraid of with regards to Iran is not about building nuclear weapons, it is about Iran bringing stability to the region,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nThe United States, the Israeli regime and some of their allies have falsely accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.<\/p>\n

Iran rejects the allegation and argues that as a committed signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it is entitled to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.<\/p>\n

The IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of nuclear facilities in Iran, but has never found any evidence showing that Tehran\u2019s nuclear energy program has been diverted toward non-civilian objectives.<\/p>\n
